My role wasn’t simply to coordinate the project.
It was to make sure artists, institutions, technicians and public transport could all move in the same direction.
Overview
Galleria in Galleria transformed Milan’s metro network into one of the city’s largest public art exhibitions.
Working alongside curator Giacinto Di Pietrantonio, I coordinated the production and installation of artworks created by twenty internationally recognised artists—including Michelangelo Pistoletto, Patrick Tuttofuoco, Masbedo and Jan Fabre—across fifteen underground stations.
The challenge wasn’t only artistic.
It was operational.
My Role
Rather than directing the artistic vision, I directed everything that allowed the vision to become reality.
I coordinated artists, assistants, suppliers, installation crews and institutions, ensuring that every decision respected both the creative intent and the operational constraints of a functioning metro system.
